Work description: Beings is a project that uses immersive installtional performance working with and directing 8 performers as the starting point. Through the process and rehearsals of this project, it gradually expands into, interwoven with and through video, fashion, sound and sculptures. It is a study of approach towards the concept on posthumanism as the reclamation of alienation in relation to biopolitics: It is a live form of bio-political resistance waving a web of intersectionality of gender, sexuality, race, class and spices. During the immersive performance, the performers will be divided into both duo and single groups, there will be a combination of repetitive sculptural performances, movements and interactive performances with the audiences. The three forms of performance languages explore concepts and emotions such as transgender and race issues, queer sexuality, power relationship in both the political and sexual context through dominance and submission, as well as the limitation of the bodies and different layers communication.Through blurring the boundaries between performance and moving image, surrealism and realism, this work creates a togetherness that unties itself through the rebellion of humanity.

Tia Yoon’s work explores connections—its attempts and its failures. Through shamanistic experiences of channelling energies, Yoon navigates between transgression and tenderness, via the spectacles of unknown worlds of otherness. By reclaiming the sense of alienation and engaging in fantastical posthuman experiences, Yoon's work resonates with a radical dissociation from conventional human existence. Yoon draws inspiration from ancient mythologies, wherein ethereal beings coexisted with humans, seeking to reawaken the essence of that captivating world. Engaging with notions of identity and resistance against the constraints of biopower, Yoon delves into these ancient fantasy realms, where diverse experiences and alternative lifestyles find solace—a dreamlike panorama that resonates with their hope for the contemporary society. Central to Yoon's work are fictional characters who engage in dialogues with transcendental spirits, employing a range of languages both human and ethereal—be it through rituals, incantations, or working with occult materials as conduits for immersive encounters. In their current artistic exploration, Tia Yoon delves into the realm of invoking spirituality within paintings, focusing on the transformative potential of materiality. By imbuing their artworks with spiritual essence, Yoon aspires to create and inhabit safe spaces, where fragmented narratives find solace and meaning.
